The new Jaeger-Le
Coultre Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire is among the most elegant premieres of the SIHH 2010 international trade show ,with a new development of the “dual wing” concept .this timepiece would amazed anyone by just looking at the new open-worked dial ,that reveals the details of the movement, in addition the watch is mix with a moonphase complication and a jumping seconds hand that allows precision to 1/6th of a second when setting the time. It is powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 381 .
What is most interesting about Duometre family is that each of two main subdials has its own dedicated mainspring barrel, each capable of storing enough energy to power its own mechanism for about 50 hours (hence the two power r
eserve indicators between 4 and 5 o’clock and 7 and 8 o’clock.)
Maybe the only drawback of such a solution is that you will have to wind the watch twice. First, clockwise to wind the hour/minutes function, and then counter-clockwise to wind chronograph.
Movement: Mechanical movement, 369 parts, 21 600 vibrations per hour, twin barrels, 50-hour power-reserve for the regulating organ, 50-hour power-reserve for the functions.
Functions: Hour, minute, seconds, jumping seconds, date, moon phases (lunar cycle and graphic depiction), 2 power-reserves.
